Child Protection Policy
1. All employees, staff and volunteers of Islamic Cultural and Educational Association have a duty to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse of children taking part in any activities organised by Islamic Cultural and Educational Association.
2. All employees, staff and volunteers of Islamic Cultural and Educational Association have duty to report any abuse discovered or suspected. This must immediately be brought to the attention of the designated child protection person.
3. All employees and volunteers have responsibility to share information about the protection of children with the appropriate agencies.
4. Unless the child or children will be put further at risk, the designated child protection person will:
– Inform the child, children or parent making the allegation and explain the likely course of action.
– Ensure the child’s or children’s parents are informed of the likely course of action.
– Inform the member of staff against whom the allegation is made and explain the course of action.
5. The designated child protection person will ensure that written records are kept for 2 years and kept securely.
6. All parents and carers of children attending activities organised by the Islamic Cultural and Educational Association will have access to this policy and upon request a copy of this policy will be provided.
7. All employees and volunteers will be appointed subject to criminal record bureau check and a suitable reference.
8. The Islamic Cultural and Educational Association will review this policy every two years.
