Membership/AGM/Constitution
ICEA Membership
ICEA membership is open to any person who attends regularly at the Masjid and lives in the areas surrounding the Masjid. Only members of the Association who have paid Membership subscription for the last 12 months are entitled to vote for the motions and for the election of the management Committee. Members of the Association who have not completed 12 months or have not renewed their membership will not be entitled to vote. They may be allowed to attend the meeting to listen to the proceedings but will not be entitled to take part in any debate. All members are expected to have up to date membership before the AGM.If members do not renew their membership by the due date before the AGM, they will not be entitled to vote at the AGM and vote in the Election for the Management Committee.The up to date membership list is displayed in the Masjid for the attention of members. Members can renew their membership by enclosing the the correct membership fee (currently £3.00 for one year,£6.00 for two years and so on)in an envelope with their name and address and post the envelope in the Masjid's letterbox or in person by contacting membership secretary.
The management Committee shall carry out an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year.
All members of the organization (as specified in the constitution) shall be informed of the meetings through announcements at the Masjid and an AGM notice letter.The period of notice shall be at least 14 clear days where possible.Changes to the constitution can only be made with over 75% of members present to vote.
The matters specified on the notice shall be the only items to be discussed apart from any other matters specifically allowed by the Chairperson of the Management Committee.
The management committee shall have the power to invite any person they deem fit to attend and speak.
The Management Committee’s AGM report (Annual General Meeting) is available for members upon request to the General Secretary.
